Shopping Around

When you shop around for a kitchen appliance, or a lawn mower – or even clothing, one tends to compare prices and the lowest price will often win the sale. This is particularly so when you can match exactly the specifications and then when the only variable is the price, its a done-deal.

This is not usually so in the service industry. In web-development, for instance, you can compare prices all you like but no two developers are the same. You need to satisfy yourself that you’ll get excellent service, a friendly response on the phone, prompt action when you want changes and a fair price.

Many web-houses compete on price because they can. They’ll quite happily sell you a product which is “off the shelf” (because they’ve acquired it from someone else) and then ask you for buckets of money once you want to think outside the square. Some web-houses appear to offer the earth but when you look closely, they’re just selling you the air that you can breathe for free.

We believe in offering value for money. Rarely would you “wait in a queue” to be attended to by the first available operator. At The Pagesmith you get to speak to a real, live person. Straight away. If the person you’re to speak to is on another call, we’ll call you back. The only difference is – we’re not a 24/7/365 service. Our hours are nominally ‘business hours’.

We’ll stretch our resources to help any loyal client. We sometimes work out-of-hours if a problem arises and we insist that any supplier of ours provides an equally responsive service.

If you want to “shop around” then we’re confident that the only difference between us and our competitors will be price. And if you cut corners or costs now, what will it deliver later.
